Immune Boosting Hot Cuppa Without The Caffeine
I’m a major coffee lover & tea lover. I need my cup of coffee in the morning and through out the day to play nice… lol
Research has shown that coffee can offer some health benefits, especially when it comes to our liver, however there is that side effect of the “caffeine high” that comes with this simple pleasure of mine.
Towards the end of the day, after my 3rd cup, I find myself shaky and my mind struggling to wind down.
A strong robust tea sort of helped but kept me up all night and needing to go to the loo… and herbal tea just don’t cut it…
So while looking for other options out there, I stumbled upon the holy turmeric latte aka “Golden Milk”.
Health Benefits
The beautifully bright golden colour comes from the spice turmeric and it’s a proclaimed superfood for it’s natural compound within called curcumin.
Curcumin is the yellow pigment in turmeric, it’s known to provide many health benefits such as, reduce inflammation, improves artery function, reduce DNA mutation, boost antioxidant levels and as a result, reduces our risk of cancer.
Drink Up
Regularly used in the food we eat, especially curries, now we can drink it too. And what a delicious way too.
This is a spicy, healthy, caffeine free beverage, full of anti inflammatory, antioxidants, immune system boosting and detoxing benefits. And best thing you can easily make it at home.
In a saucepan, gently heat 1 cup of your choice of plant milk, 1/4 tsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ground ginger, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 ground peeper, 1 tsp coconut sugar and whisk till hot and foamy. Serve with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Enjoy!
Now, I’m going to sit back with this lovely, spicy golden latte and go out and enjoy everybit of this beautiful sunshine.
Have a lovely weekend people, hope you find time to enjoy the sunshine too.

Recipe Notes
You can add, maple syrup or other syrup as a alternative sweetener or take it out all together.
You can also make this using the frother in your coffee machine.
I put all the ingredients in the frothing jug. Then using the steam function begin to heat and froth the milk up.
Be sure to stir the milk in between heating to insure spices is evenly mixed in.
