  • 3 cups soy milk or choice of plant milk
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups plain flour sifted
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp egg replacer (I used Organ)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 cup grapeseed oil
  • 1/3 cup caster sugar

  1. First prepare the buttermilk by mixing your choice of plant milk, and the apple cider vinegar together in a jug.

  2. Then in a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients.

  3. Then add the wet ingredients, including butter milk mixture, and mix until batter is smooth and lump free.

  4. Let the batter rest for 30 min and you are ready to cook in your waffle maker

  5. Cook in waffle maker as per waffle maker instructions

  6. Batter should be smooth and not too runny. If you feel its too runny, add a little bit of flour, if too thick, add some more milk.

Theres no right or wrong, it just depends on your preference of texture.

  7. Serve immediately with your choice of topping

Recipe Notes

I choose soy milk as it gives me a thicker, fluffier texture. You can use whatever plant based milk you like. You can even just use water!

This batter will make roughly 10, 11 x 11cm size waffles. Qty may vary depending on the size of the waffles you are making.

You can use the batter straight away, but letting it rest for 30 min will let the batter thicken, giving you a lighter and fluffier texture.

No Egg replacer, No worries, you can also used ground flaxseed instead 👌.

These waffles can also be frozen for up to 2 months 😋.
